Practicing Tai Chi Outside
🌳 Tai Chi Outdoors: A Breath of Fresh Air
While our Tai Chi classes have mostly been held indoors — thanks to the comfort of smooth flooring and protection from unpredictable weather — there’s something truly special about practicing outside.
Training on natural surfaces like grass, concrete, or even sand at the beach introduces new challenges, but also new rewards. Students quickly discover improved balance, deeper grounding, and a heightened awareness of their surroundings. The fresh air, the rustle of the wind, birdsong, and the calming energy of nearby trees all contribute to a more immersive and healing experience.
🌀 Nature as Your Practice Partner
I always encourage my students to step outside and explore Tai Chi in the open. It may feel unfamiliar at first, but the benefits — both physical and mental — are well worth it.
With indoor venues temporarily unavailable due to the pandemic, now is the perfect time to embrace the outdoors and reconnect with your practice in a new way.
Let nature guide your movement. 🌿
